SUB STATION GRAVEL CLEAN UP
Many transformer substations have become contaminated with PCBs,
or oils from leaks, spills and poor maintenance practices where
contamination has impacted on concrete pads and the
surrounding gravel beds. The contaminated gravel has to be removed and then
replaced.

CULVERT CLEANING
The clear-running of these concrete channels, up to 4sq m in section, is vital in helping to
reduce the chances of flooding. We have undertaken many clearance projects, removing
silt and debris from sand and sludge to traffic cones and shopping trolleys and even the
odd antique vase.
HIGH PRESSURE JET WASHING
High pressure water jetting is an effective cleaning technique for use in drains, sewers and
pipework systems. It can be used to remove relatively soft silt and algae build up or
hard solid-set substances such as scale or cement.
LAGOON, POND AND ORNAMENTAL LAKE CLEANING
The buildup of sludge over time degrades the performance of most lagoons.
Eventually, the effluent will go out of compliance on suspended solids or turbidity.
We can remove the solids content (slurry) from the bottom of a lagoon without
requiring the lagoon to be drained. Whether its a primary, secondary, activated,
settling, or whatever type of lagoon, pond, basin, or lake you may have, we
have the knowledge to remove the solids while allowing the lagoon to remain
in active service and if the lagoon needs draining we provide a fast and effective service.
COAL MINE CLEANUP
We offer a complete mine clean up service from the pit top to fan drift even the pit botton with the airload 300 sludge and slurry pump. A build up of coal around the train tracks

OIL REFINERY BIO-FILTER EXTRACTION
Contaminated oil refinery bio-filter plastic media is extracted so the tank can be inspected and
then refurbished.
SILO CLEANING SERVICE
Airload offer a complete silo cleaning service for square and round silos, bins, hoppers, filters,
tanks and ancillary equipment (including handling equipment). Our staff are trained
in confined space entry procedures, safe use of equipment and are fully conversant
with health and safety requirements. Team members receive additional training to use a
variety of specialist tools including (where required) gas monitoring equipment, escape
sets, working B.A., rescue procedures, emergency first aid, oxygen resuscitation and CPR
techniques, aerial platform work, forklift driving etc. Should additional certification/training
be required to meet a clients stipulation this is undertaken before on site works commence.
Silo entry is gained only by the use of a full working man riding winch system. Airload
not only clean the inside of silos, we also offer a high level cleaning service for industrial
builds and structures. Having experience of working at height, using man riding winches,
scaffold towers, aerial access platforms, and harness work. Airload have carried out
cleaning projects in the flour milling, food manufacturing, and industrial chemical
industries. From cleaning roof mounted extraction fans with the use of a cherry picker,
cleaning the walls and ledges inside a building housing flour silos using our winch

LEACHATE PROBLEMS
Leachate is so often applied to landfill sites, both within the waste management
industry and outside, that it is easy to forget that leachate is the term used for the
liquid produced by the action of “leaching” when water percolates through any
permeable material other than through landfilled wastes. The leachate is then
caught in a network of collection pipes designed to transfer the leachate into
surface tanks. Bio media is then introduced to reduce the solids content prior to
discharge to sewer by consent. No matter how hard we try to avoid generating
waste, by waste reduction, re-use, recycling,
composting and many other methods of waste pre-treatment prior to landfilling,
landfilling will continue and leachate generation is a problem which is here to stay.
Even if all the landfills could be closed, and the generation of new leachate could be
stopped today, we would still have to manage the leachate from many thousands of
existing operational and closed landfill sites for generations.

OIL POLLUTION
Oil skimming removes oil, fat and other floating materials from tanks, sumps,
pits and other industrial situations. A highly efficient way of pollution control
are oil booms designed for deployment in locations where the risk of a spill is
ongoing or for emergency response situations. As well as containing oil, debris,
booms can also be used as safety barriers or trash/debris containment. As the
booms are foam filled it does not require an inflation source, therefore it is
always ready for immediate deployment. This feature makes the boom ideal
for emergency response situations. In addition booms are very easy to handle
